Sneakerheads camping for the “Galaxy” Air Foamposite One started gathering outside your local House of Hoops around the same time people dropped by for the “Cement” Air Jordan IV last Thursday. The problem here is that the “Galaxy” Foams don’t actually drop until Feb. 24. The “Cement” IVs released on Feb. 18.
That’s madness. So insane, in fact, that the Daily News took notice and slapped the “Galaxy” on its cover this morning.
I looked at the residual effect of NYDN’s editorial decision and how it would impact sneakerheads relying on the resale market to actually own a pair. Because who really has time to camp outside of a sneaker store in February for an entire week?
